Dr. Li is an associate professor in the Division of Biostatistics, Department of Medicine of Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM). Prior to her appointment at IUSM, she worked as a research scientist at Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI). Her work included collaboration with Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center investigators and the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) Leukemia Committee investigators, development and planning of protocols and grants, implementation and conduct of studies, and analysis and publication of research results of clinical data as well as gene and protein array data.

Dr. Li's research interest is motivated by collaborations, including record linkage of health information from different data sources, confounding adjustment in comparative analysis using observational data, including electronic patient records, estimation of covariate distribution given patient survival, analysis of gene signature patterns for patients or samples under different conditions, selection of biomarkers for early disease detection using SELDI or LC-MS data, and pre-processing of mass spectrometry data using smoothing techniques, dissemination of research results by publication and implementation of methods into open source publicly available R packages, SurvCov and PROcess. Before her HSPH appointment, Dr. Li worked for Eli Lilly and Company for 4 years, with duties including design, analysis, report and presentation of Phase I, II and III data in disease areas of osteoporosis, breast cancer, lung cancer and mesothelioma.
