Comparative Effectiveness Research Focus
In order to demonstrate the usability of the clinical environment and to inform of its further development, we proposed to conduct a novel Comparative Effectiveness Research (CER) project evaluating treatment for Alzheimer’s. The study is a clinical trial of medication treatment for behavioral symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease in a group of real-world memory care clinics. Alzheimer’s disease has been identified as a first quartile CER priority. The three drugs being compared among the sample group are Donepezil, Galantamine, and Rivastigmine. The priority populations are the elderly derived from ambulatory, specialty, and primary care clinics.
