Activities Glossary

• Data Expansion - Expand and enhance the existing Indiana Network for Patient Care (INPC) by adding community identified context appropriate resources, including additional clinical data, knowledge resources and functionality.
• Global Doctor File - contains demographic and contact data for all providers. This file is the basis for authentication of users and will enable access to knowledge information based on licensure agreements.
• RxHub Outpatient Pharmacy Data - is a joint venture of the largest pharmaceutical benefit management companies and provides data on outpatient prescription transactions.  We plan to work with RxHub in order to expand the availability of outpatient pharmacy data, which is consistently judged one of the three most important data to add to the INPC.
• Over the Counter Pharmaceutical Sales Data - we have access to 60% of the OTC sales data for Indiana from the National Pharmaceutical Resources (because of our work with the RODS Laboratory in Pittsburgh, PA). Providing integrated access to these data from I3 will greatly increase the value of I3 for public health and research.
• Encounter data from provider practices - will be added whenever possible to the data repository. This data typically includes the patient, provider, data/time and some diagnosis and procedure data as ICD-9 and CPT-4 codes.
