The Regenstrief Institute provides a Windows-based mapping utility called the Regenstrief LOINC Mapping Assistant (RELMA®) to facilitate searches through the LOINC database and to assist efforts to map local codes to LOINC codes. Like the LOINC table, this program is also available for free use and may be downloaded from this website. It runs in Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000, and XP. |

The
LOINC Table includes fields for the LOINC codes and each of the six
parts of the name of the LOINC observations. In addition, it contains
many synonyms, comments, and other information. Related words
("synonyms") are included to facilitate searches for individual
laboratory test and clinical observation results.
The LOINC table is available for downloading in several file
formats which are described below. These are provided at no cost (see
copyright statements). In each format, the first part of the file
contains the copyright notice with permission to use the database for
any purpose without charge or written permission. We have copyrighted
the tables and this document to prevent multiple variants that would
defeat the purpose of a universal identifier for test results.Note: We have discontinued publishing the .pdf version of the LOINC table

The flexibility of the HL7 standard makes it easy to construct a Hl7 messages that have correct syntax, but with less than optimal semantics. The HL7-Lint program is a very tentative first step at attempting to find and report some of these issues. This initial offering of HL7-Lint program is limited in scope to looking for UNITS that are out of place. The HL7-Lint program is a standalone Windows program. To use the program, you will need to download and install the program on your Windows PC. You will also need to supply files of HL7 messages for the program to process. We've tried to make the user interface simple and intuitive. However, you will still want to read the supplied user manual to learn of the available features of the program. |
