The Regenstrief Medical Record System (RMRS) is one of the largest (660 million distinct observations), longest operating (continuously since 1973) and best studies medical record systems and it covers one of the largest population bases: the entire city of Indianapolis. Users access the RMRS more than 10 million times per year Wishard Health Services and more than 20 million times per year at Clarian Health partners in Indianapolis. It was one of the first medical record systems to generate reminders to physcians about its own content. It is well know nationally and internationally and has been the model for a number of commercial and academic medical record systems.
