Thane Peterson is the Chief Operating Officer of the Regenstrief Institute, Inc., where he provides leadership, management and vision necessary to insure the Institute has the proper structure, systems, and processes in place to effectively meet the mission and objectives of the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. He works with faculty and clinicians to promote, expand and accelerate their research interests to include assistance with joint ventures, small business enterprise, intellectual property rights, and strategic partnerships.
He earned a bachelors degree from Iowa State University and a Masters degree in Public Administration from Drake University. Mr. Peterson holds a certification in research administration, which certifies an individual has demonstrated a level of knowledge necessary for a person to be a professional research or sponsored programs administrator. Mr. Peterson is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He is the recipient of the Hartford-Nicholsen Award, which recognizes outstanding service over the years to the Society of Research Administrators International as well as being inducted in the Ankeny High School Alumni Association Hall of Fame for outstanding achievements and contributions to society after graduation.
