Indiana CTSI artificial intelligence workshop series features Regenstrief and IU experts

Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute is presenting a workshop series on artificial intelligence (AI) to bridge the gap between novice users and advanced applications while fostering collaboration and practical hands-on learning.

The series opened on Wednesday, July 30, with Shaun Grannis, M.D., M.S., vice president, data and analytics, Regenstrief Institute and professor of family medicine, the Indiana University School of Medicine.   • August 6, 2025, at noon | AI in the Research Workflow: Practical Applications of Large Language Models Across the Stages of Research.
    • Presenter: Kosali Simon, PhD, M.A., Register Now. Dr. Simon is a research scientist at Regenstrief Institute and a professor at Indiana University, Bloomington, O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs.
  • September 17, 2025, at noon | AI and Research Ethics: Moving Beyond “New Tools, Old Rules.”
    • Presenter: Peter Schwartz, MD, PhD. Dr. Schwartz is a professor of medicine and bioethics, the IU School of Medicine, and a professor of philosophy, IU Indianapolis School of Liberal Arts.
  • October 29, 2025, at noon | AI in Qualitative Research.
    • Presenter: Rachel Patzer, PhD, MPH, president and chief executive officer and research scientist, Regenstrief Institute; and a professor of surgery at the IU School of Medicine and a professor at the IU Indianapolis Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health.
  • November 18, 2025, at noon | Participant Messaging Using AI for Study Marketing.
    • Presenters: Lynsey Delp and Melissa Pangelinan, PhD, Associate Professor, Fairbanks School of Public Health and director, All IN for Health, Indiana CTSI.
