This paper was important because it determined that the disproportionate burden that vulnerable populations are bearing is coming from low vaccination rates and not vaccine effectiveness. And that’s important to think about.
It might seem obvious at first glance that, oh, the vaccine works no matter where, but people who are in vulnerable situations are more exposed because they’re, say, working jobs where they’re interacting with people more frequently.
