Regenstrief informaticians joined global leaders who shared their expertise at the 8th ZIMAM Digital Health Forum November 5-6, in Dubai.
This year’s forum, “Shaping the Intelligent, Connected Digital Health Landscape,” explored how artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies are transforming health systems while introducing new ethical, regulatory and workforce challenges. The institute’s participation underscored its international leadership in health informatics, interoperability and data-driven innovation.
The forum is designed to foster collaboration and includes a diverse audience of government stakeholders and policymakers; healthcare professionals, hospital leaders and clinical informatics professionals; industry innovators, investors and vendors; academics, researchers and students; digital transformation teams and information technology specialists; and public health experts and data scientists.
Regenstrief’s participation at the forum included a presentation, Competency-Based Framework for Digital Health Careers, by Regenstrief Research Scientist and Center for Biomedical Informatics Director Brian Dixon, PhD, MPA, and Regenstrief Staff Member Jennifer Shivers, MSHI.

In addition to his role as the director of public health informatics at the Regenstrief Institute and Indiana University Indianapolis Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health, Brian E. Dixon, PhD, MPA, is the director and a research scientist with the Clem McDonald Center for Biomedical Informatics at the Regenstrief Institute and a professor of health management and policy at the Fairbanks School. He is also an affiliate scientist at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Health Systems Research and Development Center for Health Information and Communication, Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center.
