Shaun Grannis, M.D., M.S., was interviewed by DocWire News for a CDC VISION Network study showing that adults hospitalized with COVID-19 who had four or more risk factors, such as diabetes, heart disease, obesity, or dementia, faced higher risks for critical outcomes regardless of vaccination status. The research, co-led by Brian Dixon, PhD, MPA, examined how patient characteristics and risk factors for severe COVID-19 evolved from June 2021 to March 2023.
