Healthy Aging Brain Care (HABC) Monitor
The Healthy Aging Brain Care Monitor (HABC Monitor) helps diagnose and manage four key areas: cognition, functional deficit, behavioral and psychological health, and caregiver burden. There are two versions of the HABC Monitor, one for the patient for self-reporting, and another for the caregiver for both observations of the patient and self-reporting on the caregiver’s own status.
There are currently more than 5 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s, and 1 in 3 older adults die with the disease or another form of dementia, according to the latest statistics from the Alzheimer’s Association. These conditions exact a tremendous emotional and sometimes financial toll on patients and their caregivers, but better monitoring can lead to better care for both.
The HABC Monitor is a cost-effective, simple, user-friendly model which can monitor not only Alzheimer’s symptoms, but also screen for other forms of dementia and depression. The HABC Monitor is also an effective tool for monitoring the state of caregivers and helping them manage the difficulties of that role.
