Regenstrief researchers join national stage to advance aging and gerontology research

Regenstrief Institute research scientists joined leading experts from across the nation at the Gerontological Society of America (GSA) 2025 Annual Scientific Meeting, November 12-15, 2025, in Boston, Massachusetts.

The premier gathering for aging research, the GSA annual scientific meeting brings together interdisciplinary scholars to exchange ideas, showcase new findings and strengthen collaborations, shaping the future of gerontology. This year’s theme, “Innovative Horizons in Gerontology,” highlights forward-thinking approaches to research, care and policy for older adults.

Key conference presenters from the IU Center for Aging Research at Regenstrief were Kathleen Unroe, M.D., MHA, M.S., Malaz Boustani, M.D., MPH, and Jennifer Carnahan, M.D., MPH, M.A.

Dr. Unroe was a presenter and co-author for symposiums, papers and posters focused on palliative care, advance care planning and quality improvement in nursing homes. Her work continues to inform evidence-based practices and innovations in long-term care.
