Regenstrief researcher awarded American Geriatrics Society fellowship

Regenstrief Institute Research Scientist Noll Campbell, PharmD, M.S., has been named one of 11 physicians, pharmacists, researchers and healthcare leaders nationwide selected as Fellows of the American Geriatrics Society (AGS), a distinction recognizing significant and sustained contributions to the care of older adults.

Dr. Campbell, an associate professor at Purdue University, focuses on measuring and managing the adverse cognitive effects of medications in older adults, including those with acute and chronic cognitive impairment. His work applies behavioral economic principles to evaluate deprescribing interventions and their impact on clinical and operational outcomes across care settings.

The AGS Fellowship is awarded to a select group of members who demonstrate exceptional commitment to geriatrics through clinical care, research, education and leadership. Fellows are recognized nationally for advancing high-quality, person-centered care for older adults and contributing to the broader geriatrics community.

An active AGS member since 2003, Dr. Campbell has contributed extensively to the society through leadership and scholarship. He has presented at AGS annual meetings, published in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society and served in multiple leadership roles, including chair of the Clinical Research in Dementia Special Interest Group. His service also includes leadership within the Indiana State Chapter of AGS and national engagement in geriatrics-focused initiatives.

Dr. Campbell maintains a clinical practice as a geriatric pharmacotherapy expert within Eskenazi Health in Indianapolis, supporting the translation and implementation of his research into clinical care.

His work has been recognized with numerous honors, including the AGS New Investigator Award, the Hulman Award for Achievement in Geriatrics from the Indiana Public Health Association and the Chaney Family Early Scholar Award from the Purdue University College of Pharmacy. His research has been supported by the National Institute on Aging through both K- and R-level funding.

The American Geriatrics Society is a nationwide, not-for-profit organization of healthcare professionals dedicated to improving the health, independence and quality of life of older adults. Through research, education and advocacy, AGS works to advance geriatrics care and support a healthcare system that meets the needs of an aging population.
