I nominate Cindy Majors because of her Professionalism, Flexibility, and Support. Her customers are the Data Core and its leadership. Cindy approaches every task with the person she is supporting, foremost in her mind.
A lot of the small “housekeeping” tasks she does go unnoticed, until someone doesn’t do them, like sending blocks for Holidays early. She really strives to take care of everyone in the Data Core, not just leadership, and considers their personal needs as well as professional needs. For example, she reminds me that we now have Data Analysts in different time zones, so we adjust meeting times when we can, to make it easier for everyone to attend. She is careful not to schedule over family blocks on calendars without communicating with the person first.
Even though she doesn’t have a team of assistants to support her, I feel like she is always on my team and supports me whenever I need it. I try to support her too, whenever I can. Just like the Data Core supports all the centers, Cindy works with Assistants from every center, even though there is no one to really cover her when she is out. I am lucky and proud to have her as a teammate. Often the quiet, consistent work that lays the foundations for others to excel, gets forgotten. I want to remember that, and nominate Cindy Majors for the Exceptional team work/collaboration/customer service orientation award for 2020!
