Lori Losee

Lori Losee

I am delighted to nominate Lori Losee for the One Regenstrief Award. Lori embodies the concept of “One Regenstrief.” She is efficient, supportive and effective in her role as director of center operations for HSR as she also collaborates closely with the Institute’s other centers and departments. She goes out of her way to foster the success of all staff and scientists. She provides valued guidance and mentorship for new staff and, in many cases, students, fellows or scientists working in the center or in other centers. When you work with Lori, you know that you have a trusted, committed and reliable colleague at your side. With a positive and constructive approach, Lori is always looking for solutions and ways to lift the success of both the center and the Institute. She manages resources extremely well. She is an advocate and contributes many of her own ideas to projects, operations and program development. Lori has organized people inside and outside the center to help to maximize the scientists’ productivity. This occurs through administrative assistance, strong communications with departments on and off campus and leveraging available resources. She has also been a key resource herself when it comes to visitors, guests and recruits, as she helps us demonstrate our strengths, find time and space to interact and put our best foot forward at essential moments. Lori has contributed significantly to building the culture of the Institute this means teamwork, communication, rigor, integrity, supportive leadership, trust and also fun. Such culture is a key ingredient of our long-term collective success. I am grateful for Lori’s dedication and the attention she has given to organizing and coordinating so many complex activities throughout the Institute.
