Dr. Rivera is very mission driven and her work aligns well with the mission and values of Regenstrief. Her research agenda is focused on addressing the social determinants of health, especially food insecurity. Her work on projects across multiple centers demonstrates an ability to produce high–quality science while collaborating broadly and working well with others. Her work with Eskenazi and IU Health is valued, and she is very focused on impacting vulnerable populations to improve their access to food security and health. In addition, she has engaged students from IU Indianapolis in her research, mentoring first-generation students and future public health leaders. Her students say very positive things about her passion for the mission and that she cares about them as individuals. We are really fortunate to have Dr. Rivera as an investigator, and her mission-driven work should be recognized.
