Two Regenstrief Institute leaders will share their expertise on infrastructure and ethical considerations related to real-world data and evidence in healthcare at the 2021 Precision Health Virtual Summit.

Regenstrief President and Chief Executive Officer and Indiana University School of Medicine Associate Dean for Informatics and Health Services Research Peter Embí, M.D., M.S., and Regenstrief Chief Information Officer and IU School of Medicine Assistant Dean for Clinical Informatics Umberto Tachinardi, M.D., MSc, are speaking at the event hosted by hc1 and Becker’s Healthcare on August 31 and September 1, 2021.

The virtual event brings together healthcare leaders and industry experts to focus on making precision health achievable and accessible to everyone in all aspects of care delivery. Precision health takes into account each patient’s individual characteristics to provide better tools to understand the best strategies to help the patient stay healthy or treat them when they are sick.

Dr. Embí and Dr. Tachinardi will present during a breakout session on August 31 titled “Emerging Ideas: Advancing Real World Data and Evidence in Health: Infrastructure and Ethical Considerations.”

Dr. Embí is internationally recognized for his work in clinical and translational research informatics. He leads a learning health initiative that uses data from every patient encounter to create real world data and evidence to improve care. He also believes in the importance of constantly monitoring and evaluating healthcare artificial intelligence algorithms for unintended consequences.

Dr. Tachinardi has a history of successfully developing and implementing health informatics technologies in organizations of all sizes. He works to create tools and technologies to leverage real world data and enable health professionals to provide precision health.

Registration for the Precision Health Virtual Summit hosted by hc1 and Becker’s Healthcare is free.
