Regenstrief Vice President Aaron Carroll named IU distinguished professor

Indiana University has named Regenstrief Institute Vice President for Faculty Development Aaron Carroll, M.D., M.S., a distinguished professor — the highest academic title for IU’s most outstanding and renowned scholars and researchers.  

Dr. Carroll is an expert in pediatrics, health research and health policy. He co-designed the Child Health Improvement through Computer Automation system that has enhanced pediatric care in developmental screening, autism screening, type 2 diabetes, obesity, attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder, and more. 

An internationally recognized expert, Dr. Carroll has published more than 300 articles and opinion pieces in mainstream media outlets, including regular features in The New York Times and The Atlantic.  

In addition to his role at Regenstrief, Dr. Carroll is also a professor of pediatrics, vice chair of health outcomes research faculty development and the associate dean of research mentoring at Indiana University School of Medicine. He also serves as IU’s director of surveillance and mitigation for COVID-19.  

He was one of 11 faculty to receive the title.
