Steven Wagers

Steven is exceptionally qualified for the One Regenstrief Award in several categories. As a key member of the LOINC team, he has made a profound impact on how the clinical terminology developers process new requests and maintain existing content in the LOINC database. Steven has helped develop the internal LOINC Management System (LMS) and integrated it with the many additional tools that the team uses to communicate with each other as well as our external collaborators. I am frequently amazed by his ingenuity and speed at completing tasks. Steven often thinks of essential processes within applications and applies them before we even have to ask. In addition to his knowledge and talents as a software developer, he also demonstrates strong leadership skills and exceptional team collaboration. Steven is often looked to for guidance with ongoing and future software development projects. He understands the specific use cases with each task, whether it’s related to development of internal tools or applications for external users, and is quick to provide thoughtful and consistently successful solutions. Steven’s work goes beyond the LOINC team and Regenstrief; he has made a global impact by successfully supporting our work with submitters and collaborators all over the world.
